1324 Bloodborne Pathogens Retraining (DVD)
Cal-OSHA requires that employees receive initial training about the hazards in their workplace. It is also necessary that this knowledge be "refreshed"... through retraining... on a regular basis. Since the detailed information that is required by the regulations has been given to employees during their initial training, retraining sessions usually focus on "awareness" of the safety rules that affect their jobs.
This video gives employees the information they need to refresh their knowledge of the bloodborne pathogens safety standards.
The key training points in this video include:
- The epidemiology and symptoms of bloodborne diseases.
- How bloodborne pathogens are transmitted.
- Methods that will prevent or reduce exposure.
- Biohazard labels, signs and container "color-coding".
- Hepatitis vaccination.
- Dealing with exposure incidents.
- Post-exposure evaluation and follow-up.
Support materials to enhance learning include a Facilitator Guide, answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ), and a quiz for documentation.
