Cal-OSHA requires that employees receive initial training about the hazards in their workplace. It is also necessary that this knowledge be "refreshed"... through retraining... on a regular basis. Since the detailed information that is required by the regulations has been given to employees during their initial training, retraining sessions usually focus on "awareness" of the safety rules that affect their jobs.
